Ongoing improvements
Maine is continuing to improve how children's behavioral health services are delivered. These efforts focus on:
- Expanding community-based services
- Improving care coordination across providers
- Making the system easier for families to understand and navigate
These improvements are designed to ensure children receive the right level of support at the right time.
A commitment to improving care
Maine has entered into a Settlement Agreement focused on strengthening behavioral health services for children under age 21. This work is helping to:
- Expand services available in communities
- Reduce unnecessary out-of-home placements
- Improve coordination for children with more complex needs
This is a long-term effort, and progress will continue over time.
